The ongoing war of words between Anasuya Bharadwaj and Vijay Deverakonda’s fans, which began during the publicity campaign for the latter’s film Arjun Reddy in 2017, shows no signs of abating.

Anasuya has recently questioned the use of the qualifier ‘The’ before Vijay’s name in the poster of his upcoming film Kushi.

On Friday, she tweeted, "Ippude okati chusanu.. "The" na?? Babooooiii!!! Paityam.. enchestam.. antakunda chuskundam" (I just noticed something. "The" too much ...We stay away from such ‘overacting’ guys.)

In 2017, the actress had expressed her objection to Vijay’s use of cuss words while promoting Arjun Reddy. Last year, she had posted a cryptic tweet after Vijay’s film Liger bombed at the box office. However, Vijay’s fans had taken exception to her criticism on both occasions.

When asked about her latest tweet, the actress stated that back in 2017, she had expressed her concern as a mother or senior person, hoping that Vijay would be more responsible.

In the present instance, she felt that the use of ‘The’ was overdoing things, as even the biggest stars did not use such terms. Nonetheless, she clarified that her tweet was more of an attempt to pull Vijay’s leg than finding fault.

Anasuya anticipated negative feedback from Vijay’s fans, who, according to her, had been persistently abusing and body shaming her, and even dragging her family into the picture.

She emphasized that she was not willing to normalize such behaviour, stating that she, like any other woman, went home after work.

The actress also expressed her belief that some of these abusers might be impersonating Vijay’s fans, but she was not going to give up.

She suggested that Vijay make a statement or tweet to encourage his fans to be more responsible.
