bro, thinking is what makes you put in bad health. try to keep your mind calm and focus on protein rich food with limited carbohydrates, don't cut rice right away. one time a day tinte ippudu, change it to once in 3 days for two weeks. and once in 4 days for a week and try stop taking, see if your body gets used to new routine.

As others suggested, if you cannot give up rice then try low GI/ diabetic rice or eat good quality long grain basmati rice, they tend to be helpful for sugars. Chapatis are no different from rice on terms of carbs and sugar, might help you loose weight.

For cholesterol you can try eating half an avacado a day, or if you don't like avacado's, then take flax seeds and grind them and you can eat them with food or as is of you are up to it. It will do wonders for cholesterol, increasing good cholesterol and reducing bad cholesterol.

but 6.1 shouldn't be bad in terms of HBA1C, normally the doctors see that asians in general and Indians in particular are prone to diabetes (starch rich foods), so they try to make sure you are in control or they can hook you up with medicines.
