KCR's Warning to BRS MLAs Engaged in Criminal Activities

BRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has convened an emergency meeting of BRS MLAs, MLCs, and MPs at the party's headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, tomorrow (May 17).

KCR's sudden decision to hold a joint meeting of BRS MLAs, MLCs, and MPs within a gap of just 20 days is reportedly sending shivers down the spines of BRS leaders who are involved with land, sand, and liquor mafia.

In the previous meeting held by KCR last month on April 27 at Telangana Bhavan, KCR made sensational comments, stating that he has a list of BRS MLAs who took bribes up to Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu and 2BHK housing scheme beneficiaries to extend the benefits.

KCR warned those MLAs to refrain from such activities, or else they would lose party tickets to contest the upcoming Assembly polls scheduled for December, and they would also be expelled from the party.

Although KCR did not disclose the names of those MLAs, a list of 30 BRS MLAs who took bribes surfaced on social media platforms and went viral.

KCR's next meeting with MLAs, to be held tomorrow, has fueled speculations that he is expected to issue a stern warning to a batch of BRS MLAs who are associated with land, sand, and liquor mafia activities.

KCR reportedly obtained intelligence reports that found nearly a dozen BRS MLAs and their friends and relatives were involved in land grabbing, illegal sand mining, and illegal liquor business in their respective constituencies, which has brought a bad name to the BRS government.

BRS currently has 104 MLAs, and the buzz in party circles is that KCR is not in favor of giving tickets to at least 50 MLAs who were categorized as corrupt, non-performing, and having links with land, sand, and liquor mafia.
