Anyone invested in this ETF. Can you shed some light. @dasari4kntr

Investing in an S&P 500 Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) offers several advantages:

1. Diversification: An S&P 500 ETF provides instant diversification by investing in the 500 largest publicly traded companies in the U.S. This helps reduce the risk associated with investing in individual stocks and sectors.

2. Broad Market Exposure: By investing in the S&P 500, you gain exposure to a wide range of industries and sectors, including technology, finance, healthcare, and more. This allows you to participate in the overall growth of the U.S. economy.

3. Low Costs: S&P 500 ETFs typically have lower expense ratios compared to actively managed funds. These lower costs can positively impact your investment returns over the long term.

4. Liquidity: ETFs are traded on stock exchanges, making them highly liquid investments. You can buy and sell shares throughout the trading day at market prices, providing flexibility and ease of access.

5. Track Record: The S&P 500 has a long and established track record of delivering solid returns over the long term. While past performance is not indicative of future results, historically, the S&P 500 has shown strong performance, making it an attractive option for many investors.

It's important to note that investing in S&P 500 ETFs carries risks, and you should carefully consider your investment goals and risk tolerance before making any investment decisions. Consulting with a financial advisor can provide personalized guidance based on your specific circumstances.

S and P is the most laziest invesment as I understood. All my and spouse 401k and IRA all are in S and P both fidelity and vanguard. Roughly 350k odd

Though I dont do much other than monthly investing it doesnt give you like 10x - 20x return if you invest wisely in regular stocks.. Its like an auto which never stops and same time doesnt go super speed

From this year we contributing only half for retirement and other in real estate and stocks.. Lets see

Roughly 60k per year is getting blocked there..

None of the hedge fund managers alive were able to beat S&P index / ETF's.
Just go for it. In addition to the average 11% yearly return (Based of the last 40 years data) you ll earn 1.65% dividend (it might not sound big, but if you reinvest them, you ll see the snow ball effect in 15-20 years).

SPY or VOO

SPY and VOO are very similar ETFs. They both track the S&P 500 index, have low expense ratios, and have a long history of strong performance. The main difference between the two ETFs is their expense ratio. SPY has a slightly higher expense ratio than VOO. This means that, over time, VOO will have slightly higher returns than SPY.

If you are a US resident and you are looking for an ETF to invest in for the next 10 years, I would recommend VOO. It has a lower expense ratio than SPY, which means that you will keep more of your investment earnings. VOO also has a longer history of strong performance than SPY.

Nothing guaranteed, Do your research as well.
