Nexus beats sonet only in terms of built quality. 

But in like looks, transmission,bootspace and other features sonet is best..Also compared to nexus 2 lakhs cheaper

Both good options . My relatives bought diesel auto sonet last year on my recommendation , they are happy with it 

Nexon is very rugged , easy to maintain and safe car but it's 3 years older than sonet 

Sonet would be my choice but make sure they go for a test drive before making final choice

If they drive a long time on highway then Nexon is probably better choice because the car is very safe 

If majority of time is spent on city travel , sonet is okay

yah mostly within Hyd driving… once in a while long journey.

Sonet 1.2 htk plus MT normal engine…

Nexon xz plus turbo engine … is that a big deal when it comes to power or pickup?

Within the confines of Hyderabad you won't notice much difference but in highway overtaking turbo engine would be  preferable 

So if you are driving mostly in Hyderabad then not a big deal
