bhayya, who we support is our own prerogative and i can understand that. But just to support own candidate/party, we don't have to bring down other people with falsehoods and half truths no.

Savarkar was in Andaman Jail reserved for some of the most hardened criminals. they locked up his brother also in the same jail and both brothers didn't know for a while. Read up on the conditions in which the people in Andaman jails were kept, how they were chained and how they had to do hard labor like getting certain amount of oil by milling seeds like how people used oxes/cattle.

Savarkar mercy petition was asked to be put forth on a suggestion by Gandhi only no, because among the many reasons he felt Savarkar would be better served by fighting the British outside than sitting in some jail.

people in those days fought what they felt best, Gandhi and congress was using non-violence, Chandrshekar Azad, Rajguru, Bismil, Bhagat singh went the revolutionary way and Netaji went the armed struggle way. Everybody tried their bit.

Besides, If Savarkar was so bad why would Indira Gandhi donate money from her personal money to Savarkar memorial when she saw it in a very bad shape and also released a stamp in his name. perhaps rahul gandhi should read more about his grandmother and learn more.

Politics have changed for the worse as the election losers have become desperate these days which wasn't the case in atleast the older days.

what is modified history here bhayya, that savarkar didn't serve in Andaman or his brother was also locked up with him, if he was such a big boot licker then why was he in Andaman and Gandhi, Nehru Patel and rest of congress leaders walking around relatively freely when fighting for India's independence. As i said people can believe what they want, but people thinking India got its independence only due to non -violence of gandhi and congress party are the one with blinkers on.

Many countries got their independence in Indo-china region around the 1950's, did gandhi nehru and congress also fight their non-violent fight with british in those regions?

What about Srilanka and china, did gandhi have any direct relation to their freedom movements also?

Nobody here is saying Savarkar only got/fought for independence. We are saying he also fought along with gandhi and various Congress leaders, revolutionaries, Netaji and also some communists. That is the key difference.

It is the congress which said other than Gandhi Nehru and Congress party rest are all side shows when it came to fighting for independence.

Besides are you and congress this dense that British will put a boot licker in Andaman and the actual threats to British rule in gandhi and Nehru will be allowed to roam relatively freely and is it also wrong that Indira gandhi govt released a stamp on savarkar.

Rahul Gandhi can shout against savarkar for muslim votes, but his own grandmother has donated money and released a stamp. How does he and his supporter explain this dichotomy.
