how much time it will take for someone with an average salary of 120K-150K to accumulate 100K on an average?

i'm saving on an average of $3000 per month and its going to take almost 3 years with comfortable lifestyle with moderate spending.

are you asking about increasing net worth or cash savings?

Cash accumulation is the hardest

401k accumulation is easier as you can max out your yearly contributions and reach 100k in 4 years approx.

Building house equity is another way to do this in a few years, you save some 6-10k or may be more in principal and also if home value appreciates 10-15k per year, it takes 4-5 years on average to build 100k equity. (Assuming prices will stabilize and we won’t see Covid like run up for another decade).

Investing in ETFs like VTI, VOO, SPY every month is also a good way to increase your overall wealth

market risk will be there in all the above approaches, cash accumulation is good but you lose the value due to inflation so choose wisely.

Where to buy spy?
