This is true. Also most families got financial independence. Girls are well educated and working jobs equally. Hence choices. 

If a guy wants respect from wife, in-laws or their relatives, don't take dowry in any form. Split marriage cost. Your life will be different.

Actually the top tech CEOs and people in executive positions workout very well, keep themselves clear of bojja. Batta is totally fine plenty of people have batta thala but these high performers don't have bojja, bojja is a lazy person's ailment
