Extreme Suspense Over Controversial NRI Missing

NRI Kudaravalli Srinivasa Rao, who had come to Vijayawada from the US, is still untraceable. Various versions of his disappearance are doing rounds, and his advocate has even hinted at the involvement of local police. Srinivasa Rao has been missing for a couple of days. Srinivasa Rao flew down to Vijayawada to look into the matters of his uncle’s Trust. He happens to be a trustee of Muppavarapu Leela Ramakrishna Prasad Charitable Trust. According to his advocate, Srinivasa Rao had been getting threatening calls from unknown people, and his mobile phone had also been switched off since he went missing. The advocate Paleti Umamaheswar Rao alleged that some threatening calls came from policemen too. He said Penamaluru police registered a false case against him under Sections 341 and 506 of IPC and were trying to arrest him. He further added it was unclear if Srinivasa Rao was arrested by police or kidnapped by land grabbers. Umamaheswar Rao further alleged that the police tried to intercept Srinivasa Rao and his daughter while on their way to Yadagirigutta in Telangana on June 21. When a call went to Telangana police, they immediately traced the vehicle and found that they were police from Andhra looking for Srinivasa Rao. The Penamaluru police, on the other hand, has denied all allegations and maintained they had come to issue notices in an Arms Act case. The Punjagutta police did not initiate any action after speaking to Krishna district SP P Joshua. Despite the suspense and nerve-wracking situation, no details have come forth with regard to the disappearance of Srinivasa Rao. His uncle’s Trust is said to be valued at Rs 100 crore.
