Dont know about other areas. Bay area housing market is strong. More than 50% home owners refinanced homes in 2020/21. Now selling current home and buying new home does not make sense for them until & unless they expect 30% crash. Also property tax for those homes is relatively low since purchase price was low.

 

my suggestion to bayarea folks: if u like the home and can afford it, go for it

private companies based out of florida and california buying all new home builds in arizona and texas.
