Overall I did not thought much got close 10k for 22k after tax rebate including powerwall with wait time of 6 months for install..ordered in 2022 November and installed and got it operational in 2023 March while atleast 4 storms and 5 hrs power outage so far powerwall has been amazingly useful..

Overall go for it if u plan to stay in house for 10yrs minimum and also willing to take risks for insurance and roof replacement if u high electric usage and don't want any grid dependency 

Another couple of tips if u plan to go with big company smaller companies can go out of business in long run..because this u may use for 10 to 20 yrs depending on how long u have home ownership..

Other one check with utility on net metering I heard some companies in dallas like Co serv changed their policy which is worst in term of buying giving like 2 cent but when u purchase like 14 cents then it's waste of money..

 

Overall my take is solar helps in long run like 10 yrs but it's like spend huge money upfront and reap rewards overtime with comforts of no power outage in tornado times and provide peaceful life..

Apart from solar ppl are exploring lighting surge protection in dallas areas these days ..just fyi..to protect house from lighting as we hear from so many cases recent past..it one in millions of home but never know whose number is when
