I have a Honda, Cabin not cooling after running AC. Third-party mechanic mentioned freon levels are low and doubt there is a leak.

Honda Service vadu around 1k to 2k avvochu annadu.

Is it better to claim insurance in these scenarios where the service amount is above 1.5k?

P.S- I have limited knowledge of car repairs so cant risk to do it myself

Do you have insurance for repairs ? What is deductible?

You can try getting AC refill cylinder which also plugs leaks apart from filling freon. It also has a gauge to tell you the current level . It costs 30 to 40$ in advance auto and itself easy as attaching a hose.

I have regular insurance with geico. Do we need separate one for repairs?

Looks like you are new here. They don't cover repairs.

Very few policies do cover , but you need to buy when you get insurance and that too when they are relatively new AFAIK
