100% in index funds

Aggressive Index funds or moderate?

Technology fund has given amazing returns in the last 3 months. I got in at right time but I only moved 30% of my funds. I I wish there was an option on Cash to put in savings and get 4-5% interest.

401k is just a waste of thing..ppl think saving every year small amounts will give big amounts at retirement

You are just giving your hard money to govt for free and for them to invset some where else and you loosing 40-45k an year(if both invest) in cash and again spending those expenses on credit cards and paying interest

I disagree because.. most of the times Employer match will fetch out.

yes you should only invest until employer match counts..never to max out..

Very few companies give 6 to 6 max. Many give a 6 to 3 or a max limit of 4500-6000 as contribution

I started realizing that recently. It makes sense for 401k Match. We have profit sharing meaning company will put about 5% no matter we contribute or not. I will probably stop 401k contribution from next year (Maxed out already this year). Already have a good chunk and will help if I want to retire early (dream) ...

Desis mostly do not pay interest on credit cards. If they do, contributing to 401k does not make sense. Its better to pay off debts and later think about saving for future.

Most funds in 401k have a % allocated to Equity. Agressive funds invest more % of the money into Stocks and less money into safe assests like bonds/moneymarket/etc. Less aggressive funds invest less % into stocks.

why maxing out doesn't make sense to you?

that depends on how you manage debt and pay interest on credit cards.

I roughly had earlier 200k in credit card payments and personal loans at one point in time. But investing that cash gave me 400k in returns. So its all subjective
