No, do NOT take dowry. That is illegal and could have legal implications in the future.

Just take daughter's share in the property. That is fully legal and comes with peace of mind.

(equal share in the property could easily be much more than the paltry dowry they intend to pay and so, equal share in the property all the way)

Daughters share andaru ivvaru bro.. antenduku, mana db lo ne chala mandi yedustu threads vestaaru that their parents are giving money to his sister and all of their parents property is him ani..

wife & husband common account transactions loney chaala godavalu start ayyevi. Even if u have joint account with wife, always have one individual account and put some part of pay check into it.

Dowry, equal share rendu bokkey.

dowry is illegal…

equal share ki u will mostly end up as watchmen without pay. Naa cousin valla wife ki equal share icharu valla nanna. Properties anni amey peru meedhaney unnayi. Rents anno amey account loney deposit avuthayi. Maintenance issue vasthey mathram naa cousin velli daggarundi fix cheyinchali.  Vallu villa thisukunnapudu money short ayindi. Entha sepu naa cousin properties(athani parents nunchi vachina) ammamantadhi thappa thana properties touch cheyyaniyyadu.

dowry and wife getting equal share.. rendu bokkey. Staw away from dowry. Okkavela wife ki equal share isthey, always treat it as somebody’s. Mana sontham ani eppudu anukokandi

Yeah, for ages sons alone carried the burden of responsibility and caring for parents all the way into their old age and so properties were always given to sons. If daughters share responsibilities, bills, expenses, debts and care for parents equally, there should be no issues sharing properties equally as per the law. This is where the problem arises as daughters barely take any responsibilities

How about daughters/sisters going to courts against parents/brothers for equal share these days (even after they took dowries before) because the law allows it? It is said that more than 67% court cases in India are about property disputes and more than 15% murders are over property disputes.

If responsibilities, bills, expenses and debts are shared equally, giving equal share to daughters will result in cordial relationships.
