2006 process was super fast. Labor used to take like 1-2 weeks.

In 2007 USCIS made a mistake and made all dates current. They rescinded, but due to pressure reopened in March 2007. There were mass filings. Took 3 yrs to clear them.

Ala vachindi ...

Do you have citizenship? If so
When voting, what will be your priority ?

I am not an expert on ameri politics .. but based on my limited knowledge and interactions with other desi citizens.. here's my view.

1. Initial years towards Dems - Desis tend to lean towards Dem when they initially become citizens as they tend to think that Dem have a favorable policy towards immigration, social equality and equal opportunity.

2. People with grown up kids lean towards Reps - Once their kids start going to high school they tend to become very selfish. They forget their roots and how they came into the country and think their kids need more opportunities for jobs and can only be fulfilled if further immigration is restricted.

3. Reps but not Kump mama - Others have realized over years that reps are not against immigration. In fact  immigration policies have been more stringent with dems administration than reps. More people have been deported in dem's rule. Kump mama wants to be in news and self-dabba kottu kuntadu. sodekkuva matter takkuva.

Part i dont like about dems rule - gives too many freebies to people making them lazy (like indian/andhra politics). Rup's rule has been historically good for economy.

4. My view - I have been a 1) so far but lately, leaning towards 3 but will never vote for kamp mama for his hate politics. I would never forget my roots and will not vote for anyone against immigr for desis.

Not sure if I gave clarity.  I think I am all over the place. :D

Your perspective.

Many can argue that dem supporters just try to quote rep supporters as a reason for their incompetence.

Point 3 covers that. Some ppl do not vote for dem for their incompetence's. I would consider myself in point 3 but I may not vote for them coz of kump mama.

But you gave an altered perspective. According to you, all Trump supporters are very selfish and forgot their roots. Many remember their roots but support him because there is truth in what he speaks. May be they get accommodating because of the many other benefits he brings.

In your point 3, you stated dems are more stringent. I do not agree. They have a hypocritic and toxic policy. It is not about deportation but about values and following the law of the land. These are the people who are selfish because they get caught up on the words Trump made against first generation kids. These people chose to forget the benefits he brings, primarily about not meddling in another country's affairs.

No one is right here. It is a battle of perspectives. Each has their own priority.

Ledu mama. Read again.

I have heard from a lot of fellow citizens that they want to vote for rep for their selfish needs (point2).

Point 3 is - Some desis want to vote for reps for their incompetence's. A lot of ppl think reps are against immigration but they are not. Kamp mama does a lot of self-advertisement about these policies.

I was pont 1 but leaning towards point 3. However if kamp mama is the rep candidate for next elections, i wont vote for him coz of his hate politics.
