Enjoyment depends on utility. Money or property kuda antheee...

 

If you cant enjoy fruits of your crop, then what is the point of having a big farm in your backyard.

For some people, its an ego issue to have a big farm. Even though they cannot eat fruits of the crop.

But in reality, it should be sustainable and it should meet its utility. Andukee sampadinchadam okkate kadhu...bathakadam kuda theliyali...I learnt a lot from nordic countries in this aspect. No wonder they are the happiest people on the face of earth. They have least issues

Some people assume that those fruits will stay forever if they dont eat them. 

Guess what? they wont. Its a matter of time before kids throw it away on gambling or alimonies in this country. For that matter any mishappening costs a fortune in this country. Its a sad reality. I think Indians should start more objective thinking. Its high time.

See this is the problem. U are defining the definition of enjoyment to everyone.  They are spending there hard earned money to do what ever they want. Ur blindly coming to conclusion that its for showoff or peer pressure

Exactly. U should follow what u enjoy the most. And let others do what they think is best for them instead of commenting them that they are doing for showoff. 
 

Big home could be child hood dream for lot of folks who come from middle class/lower middle class families in india. They could have lived in small place and might have went through lot troubles sharing that small place with siblings. May be they want to make sure their kids have enough space.

You are right. I’m not disagreeing with you. If you want to order a $15000 premium whiskey bottle at a bar and drink only 1 glass of it. Then it’s on you. I’m not judging. I rather order that whiskey only if I can drink it all. Or if I have friends and family who can partake in that fun process. 
 
Anyways I’m from old school hedonist. My definition of enjoyment is more surreal. Don’t mind me.
