"Rs 4,700 for one 'chai-paani'

During a United Nations conference on tourism in Hyderabad in May, the tourism ministry, headed by former filmstar Chiranjeevi, paid Rs 1,200 for a cup of tea and Rs 3,500 for one lunch plate, an RTI plea filed by Sai Prasad had revealed.

Since over 200 cups of tea and 150 plates of food were consumed, the total bill for 'chai-paani' for a day came to over 7. 65 lakh!

And the total expense of the three-day conference was over Rs 2.14 crore, said a newspaper report."
