Ours - yes. Role/resp same but handling different technology now. I am happy to be handling completely different and challenging role after a long time.

My new director is the one who hired me long back and I have an excellent rappo with him. Kakapothe completely different area - Data quality. Intaku mundi integration technologies, B2b and HR. 

I am excited for sure. Will be working on something new after a long time.

True that. These people think no body is observing them, but they get caught in the own web/politics.

Those are the reasons they usually give. There is always an ulterior motive as well. Usually to get rid of low performers, or cut insignificant roles.

They do it to break existing rapport between manager and employee so that employee finds a new manager all of a sudden, which in turn delays promotion/hikes.
