TG movement is as old as the first state formed on linguistic basis. 1956 la State form aithe 1960-70’s madhyalo chala serious ga vunde statehood demand. 1970 was the peak movement but national politics  was dominated by the war scene and statehood demand was put on the backfoot, atarvata Anna garu ravadam, we have no izzat anadam, we want izzat ani arava cut out copy paste cheyadam…atarvata sendranna rajanna la rajyalu ravadam valla late ayindi…

tg movement may be old. but TG cultural aggrievement based movement is much more recent. 1969 peak TG movement was to demand creation of institutions to fulfill promises made to TG when it was annexed into AP.

but ultimately tg achieved statehood only by mimicking NTR's atmagouravam and kindling TG pride based on its culture (same tactic as Tamils and Annagaru).

it is in a way convenient too. since material demands can never be met, but cultural outrage can be constantly farmed for political benefits. not much diff from DMK and TRS. even DMK was silenced after the China war, and TRS was silenced after Kavitha got a rap on her knuckles for her comment on Kashmir's independence.

Most of the responders here are NRI Langas though. Folks in India are fine
