Back in the 90s, Stage programs abroad were popular especially in the Gulf. Usually a mix of Top actors/actresses, singers and Kalabhavan mimicry artists would show up for a stage event.

I've heard that typically actresses were offered to the highest bidder (usually wealthy gulf mallu businessmen) during these trips for a Hotel Meet-N-Greet (if you know what I mean). Most prominent name I've heard in this rumor is that Vani Vishwanath was usually available through this route.
