Issue is with taxation.. if a company allows someone to work from another country, they have to register their company and pay taxes.. also, data issues kuda untayi.. some companies have strict data privacy issues that doesn’t allow their employees to access the data from other countries..

Na wife ki offshore team unnaa kuda, India nunchi remote work allow cheyyaledu as she has access to prod data and offshore doesn’t..

Some companies allowing upto 45 days remote work from India. I think in near future a lot of companies will standardize these. There are some exceptions like Financial sector.

Yeah i think some rule is being implemented. Naku kooda wfh kudaradhu PTO teesuko annaru.

Issue is if you are on PTO and team can survive without you then you are easy target for layoff.

does IRS care if we are out of country for long time in a year as long as we pay the tax that is due

Problem IRS kadu, the country where you are working from will want tax of your income. My friend started working from Canada and the FT company said we will have to setup tax for canada because you are working for extended period of time in that country. Indian IT dept is also looking into it anta. But I think if company is not allowing working during a 4 week vacation then that might be due to data policies.

Singapore has a similar rule. If someone works from there for more than 60 days, they have to pay singapore taxes.
