this is true ..  most billionaires buy big yachts ...

there are many many reasons

few are

 

1. when local law enforcement is looking for them they escape to yachts .... yachts will be on international waters with no jurisdiction ... they got 4-6 months on to the yacht ... thats why they look like a rich home or hotel on water ...

2. Lot of business deals takes place on those yachts .... once a rich man goes on yacht ... after few weeks or months ... they will start hosting business people with their family or +1 of their choice ... the business person whom the yacht owner is looking for will arrive via helicopter near to land mass but still parked on international waters ... the business person will be flown from land to the yacht via chopper ... that's why yachts have helipads ...

3.  they lure the business person with deals in home city, girls, drugs, exotic food ... that's why yacht girls.  The business man that was invited to the yacht also will stay for feww weeks to months ... even couple / girl swapping happens ... in some cultures it is expected the wife of the potential business requiree to dance with or do some other things with the person offering the business deal ... especially latin america 

4.  as lot of business work takes place on yacht .... yacht's are equipped with high end satellite communication ... meeting rooms ... board rooms ... even ball rooms to host professional parties ...
