do you see a single bus in that video?

it looks like some vacation destination. Not a lively city.

That is not opened yet and nothing there yet, government building a green field city called neopolis, developers stated building offices and residential buildings, occupations will start 2025-27 and beyond

Its a nightmare to cross the road. People do not know that they have to cross roads at Zebra crossing. Vehicle drivers do not know they have to give way to pedestrians near zebra crossing.

I have seen many times where a old woman/man has to cross the road and they are scared to look at oncoming traffic. So they just put their hand to signal they are crossing and just go. Its so dangerous for both.

nevertheless, such wide roads kill the vibe of a city. It demands people access facilities only by car - means further more wastage of space for car parking.

old Hyd is way more beautiful than anything built after 90s. because it was built for people to interact. Not just drive around when bored.

Your observation: Hyd is not a pedestrian friendly city.

My observation: Hyd was never a pedestrian friendly city and only city in India which is pedestrian friendly are the ones which were planned. Naa observation reality Ki tagattu vundi..

Absolutely correct. Cannot compare Hyd with any world class city esp with respect to traffic rules.

Change is needed in People to follow rules. over bridge pedestrian crossings are there even with lift provision. People still prefer crossing road.

When I visit hyd, I keep the same expectations. Nakemi different ga kanapadadu..

dude what 'rules'? Hyd, along with all cities in India are badly designed to cater to the 5% of car traffic, over majority of walkers.

if you build wide roads and expect cars to go at 40km/h or stop at zebra crossing, you are probably expecting too much from humankind.

When was the last time you went to Hyderabad? When you visit next time, Plan to visit the new Hyderabad - Gachibowli, Financial city, etc.

1. You get an automatic ticket if you or pillion rider or both do not wear a helmet. This feb, I was pillion rider with out helmet on my friends bike and he received a ticket for rs.250 next day with a picture proof.

2. Speed limits are enforced everywhere, if you don't follow, you get an automatic ticket.

3. They will not renew your license or vehicle registration, if you have any pending tickets on your name. These tickets are getting expensive.

They are planning to extend this to the rest of the areas. Of course its a challenge. But when it hits your pocket (tickets), people change.

Also when I asked people to come to a gettogether for drinks/dinner, 10 out of 10 came in Rapido or cab or metro. None of them drove which is great. They are scared of DUI and the process once caught. I was stopped atleast 4-5 times in 3 days I went out with my wife in Car/Bike. They checked both of us for alcohol. This is in LB Nagar and not even new Hyderabad.

Most other stuff kuda anthe especially civic sense and community sense…it gets better by each passing day.

I've technically never been to Hyd, since I don't have any memory of being there from the last time I was there.

all the above is enforced in all cities.. I don't understand what your point is. that Hyd is uniquely better at enforcing all these above rules?

is the speed limit 40km/h? I think it is 60km/h and the enforcement hmmm... again when you have wide roads like the one Hyd has (it is from my hazy memory of Hyd), no one is actually going at 60km/h.

again, building wide roads and checking people for alcohol is not a sustainable model for road safety.

civic sense anedhi first land use nundi raavaali.

crowd ki dooram undaali ani outside city gated communities lo illu teeskovatam aey against civic sense. even though you can justify it as personal choice. akkadnundi teeskunna anni decisions anti civic sense aey.

awareness anedhi eppudu raadhu. if the roads are wide and begging to be used as race tracks.

I will tell one thing..if you have kids don't take them out on the roads especially between 5-8. High chance of accidental death

I was talking about the measures traffic department or DMV is taking to change people's behavior which in turn will result in better road safety.

My point is that hyderabad is a vibrant city with people well known for "Easy going or chill attitude". No amount of bigger roads, zebra crossings, traffic lanes will regulate traffic. It needs people to follow those rules.

Traffic/DMV (or whatever other department) are taking measures to force people's behavior. That's my point.
