I would agree that Hyd roads were the best I remember in Hyd during CBN rule.

under what reasonable criteria would you make that comparison?

that's why I said Hyd will never be a world class city. neither will any other city in India.

Kolkata is probably the closest to a world class city India has. fantastic public transport and lots of public space.

Every city  has its charm and being from hyderabad, I love the city. I love the development happening and keep hoping for better development.

Because I lived in hyd during that time and used to go to college on bike and travel all around the city. I have visited Hyd almost every year (except COVID) and did drive around the city in both Car and Bike. I can make the difference.

If you have never been to hyd, what makes you qualified to even ask this question?

okay. but people are so touchy as if I post only to take potshots at Hyderabad. lmao.

even in my worst emo phase, i was never this senti about Chennai. I freely mocked that trash city for what it truly is, even while loving it secretly on the side.

feed what? don't be ridiculous. no one forced you to respond to me.

should I apologise for holding an opinion different from yours in the details, or for voicing it out?

How can you even have an opinion if you have never been to hyderabad?

oh you mean in the 90s, when there were not many cars around to kill kids playing on the street?

the fact that cbn started to build his hitech city outside of old hyd is proof that he's the original culprit that started urban decay of Hyd.

He sold hitec city to companies for 1 rs per acre or something

I don't have to be from Hyd to ask this question, duh!

I think most of you posters are shooting from the hip, indulging in nostalgia and not actual discussions about your city.

just tell me that you are reminiscing your golden days in your city, and I'll gladly shut up.

all I see is a bunch of upper caste people speak about pedestrian friendliness, when most likely the next gated community you buy your flat from in Hyd won't probably even allow pedestrians into their compound, even if they are legally obligated to.

in a general sense of this kind of behaviour, I'm compelled to further dwelve into what actually drives this conversation.

do you really want pedestrian walking friendly places or not is a question that interests me.

absolutely. you keep asking me about not being in Hyd, when it is immaterial, and you being touchy about your city.

I'm only speaking about Hyd in the general sense since I have experience with other cities in India.

I'm open to hear why you think hyd is different. Not interested in your assertion that I have to be from Hyd to talk about Hyd. Coz, I'm really not talking about Hyd here.

I'm asking you to talk more about Hyd and I'll listen. and ask questions.

I don't have an opinion on Hyd outside it being another urban sprawly city in India. and one that will continue to be an urban mess, like all other cities in India.

This made me laugh. So you are the professor and I am your student?

Go back to the beginning of this thread and go through the whole discussion to understand what we are talking about.
