Think how much real estate equity in the form of taxes  it is going to bring in for the government, it will definitely see a massive ROI, other advantage will include reduce pressure on the core city infrastructure as city spreads, growth in dispersion rather concentrating everything in one part of the city.

 

You are comparing apples and oranges. Since inception hyderabad metro is in huge loss. Just previous year loss is 1300cr, before that it was 1700cr. Metro  revenue is less than depreciation of asset cost, inka forget about repaying loans.

Metro is not in operational loss, L&T built the project on loans(12k crores) and they are paying high interest on that. Their operational revenues increased 100% year over year from last year(629 crores from 300 crores)

L&T is also inflating loses to seek more money from the government. How is it government’s head ache if they got money on loans.

You will need to access the indirect productivity it is bringing in by reducing the travel time and taxes on fuel etc apart from traffic congestion.

Financial report. Their revenue is less than the depreciation. Precovid the revenue was 1700cr but every year still it is in loss. The current revenue is less than half of precovid revenue.

It is an investment for the future, ofcource Government will do some number crunching, they are looking for some contribution from center, own finances, PPP or cheap loans. These projects are going to take time and only if they start talking now then they will become a reality in 15 years. Mumbai is spending 1 lakh crores and Bangalore/Chennai is spending 60k crores each on metro expansions.

JICA is lending at 3% opposed to 10% from Indian banks. They are the major lender of Chennai metro.

In the end, as stated ROI on how much real estate equity and taxes it will create for the government will also matter.

ORR gurinchi alochinche mundu, city lo veyalsina routes inka chala unnai. Mundu avi veste baguntundi. City lo chala mandi bane use chestunnaru. Atleast city lo traffic congestion tagguddi.

Inka vere places ni connect cheste baguntadi. ORR chuttu communities vaste appudu chudachu Metro akkada.

Based on the phases ORR metro is last in the list (phase 3b), we haven’t started phase 2 yet, it will be a long time before it starts. JP gani attention seeking post idi ante

By 2050, Hyderabad metro and greater regions will be home to 2 crore population, almost 1/3rd of the state’s population will be living in and around Hyderabad and by area, Hyd will be the largest urban setting in India pushing NCR to second spot.

Ivala inner ring road paristidhi etlaithe vundo, 15-20 years la ORR situation ade avutadi…ORR can fuel growth for another 15-20 years. 

At first it may sound silly but as long as it’s not elevated, the cost of light rail should not be so high. May be 3-4 crs per Kilometer and we will have a project which will be built over a decade or more. A continuous project…

A new way to travel and metro could be lifeline of travel in Hyderabad. It’s the future. Imagine if we did not had metro built already.
