Perhaps fisheries created more opportunities than IT would create in Andhra. There is a huge population who are unskilled, semi skilled and such sectors helps to empower such people. when a sector grows, it takes everyone along the growth path.

Jaggadu spent lot of money for fisheries development…modernized fishing harbors, provided loans to buy new boats, cold storages etc but the sector has been improving as a whole. Shrimp mida ban vunde, certain fish varieties were lucrative but susetable to diseases and improved quality of hatchlings among other factors.

aapu unlce...jagga did nothing for aqua expect lowering the power from Rs 2 to 1.5..shrimp meeda ban unappudu production cost kuda raala marketlo

This is Andhea’s strength. Amaravati virtual capital and IT dreams ani oka chetta alavatu chesinaru and development ante IT jobs ane mind set lo vunnaru…

Minimum investment to encourage this sector would have resulted in rich dividends, low cost to skill the labor, no need of education, readily available talent pool of labor and techniques…inni pettukuni chetulu kalchukunaru…

Fisheries and processed food units will be deadly combination…paisal ae paisal.

nice dreams....low investment? elago kuda cheppu kodiga

2. Bochu Yesu Reddy Gadu peekindhi yeemi leedhu...This industry has been growing in AP since last 4 decades.

3. Finally as @dasari4kntr said, it is still risky business. One wrong step, entire prawn pond will die. Its not for small-scale or individual farmers... its for rich guys only. Bheemavaram Rajulu for a reason.

4. Seema beggars were driven out from Chennai. They are living as BC in Bangalore. Telanganiites fcuked and sent them packing home. All these places they were looting the local people's wealth. ippudu Coastal AP meedha paddaaru.. they will get the same treatment from here too..

4. Seema beggars

ade kada...prathodu telsinattu seppetode....low investment anta neyavva

Chaa, minimum investment aaa?? Yevadu baabu cheppindhi? Okka saari Godzillas lo okka 1 week vundi chooduthelusthundhi.. .....leaving that Amaravathi part..but look at realities:

1. Each acre of land costs minimu 15-20 lakhs as per todays values anywhere in Godzillas, Krishna, Guntur or Vizag.

2. Gone were the days when a small random farmer could borrow 5 lakhs at 5 Rs interest and take 2 acres for lease and then do this farming. The investments on prawn/fish seeds, labour, food for 3-6 months have exponentially gone up. Plus pesticides/chemicals for cleaning up the mess created and water draining becoming a huge burden everyday.

3. With no proper regulation on labour market, it gets difficult to engage with labour who are tough to handle in Coastal Dists.

4. Not backed by any sort of insurance, these small farmers are at the mercy of rain God.. one big rain or a breach of border..means all prawns die in just few hours...could be well a day before catching them up all..

That leaves only the RAJUs, the big boys of Coastal Andhra only in the play.. rest all will be/already  bankrupted in this business.

Already cheruvu vundi, cheruvu lo water vundi…government odu hatchlings ichindu…credit mida feed supply chesindu..Telangana la fishing chesedi mostly gangaputrulu who already know how to raise and catch fish.

Ie sequence la massive investment edundi ? Infact monopoly valladi because they have rights over lakes and ponds and the skill which no other  group have.
