i paid 10% on my loan @5.37 interest and i am paying $110 every month on PMI.
i have enough money now to pay off 20% now and my main thing is avoiding pmi & pay off principal.
is it a good investment advice?

it depends on the house cost & apr.. current interest rate are high .. so it is good to put down 20%.. provided you have enough cushion ( even after the down payment..)
