Based on your original topic, you are not sure if he is telling truth. I mean why he is in deep hole. He says its stocks but you believe its gambling. 

Is he in debt? I mean appulu pettada? If yes, job undi kada. He can pay them off slowly. But if he is wanting more money, its only to gamble again.

Yes bro, I believe it's gambling. also, true with 6 fig salary, one can plan to pay off debts slowly.
