Chittoor has significant presence of Tamil people and many telugus speak Tamil as well. Chittoor people follow lot of Tamil festivals, months, and traditions as well.

Just like Telaganga was not going to be a reality without Hyderabad, Chennai was not going to be part of AP. Hence Tamils agreed to let go Tirupati for us. In fact , lot of Telugu people played a major role in development of Chennai and still are.

Sorry what I meant is they had agreed to form AP with Tiruapti while Chennai being part of TN. Chittoor used to be part of North Arcot district in Madras state.

Just curious do you know the meaning of Tirupati , Tirumala ?

Tirupati , Tirumala are Tamil words.

We typically write as Tiru and not Thiru but both can be used though.

thiru is a  sanskrit honorific  used by both telugu and tamil veda pandits . Avi tamil words kadu. Tiru ane rastunnaru , but adi corerct kadu. vallu ruling class and named accordingly just like mughals named hastinapuram to delhi.
