Bay Area disgusting NIMBYs

the same people who'll whine forever about homeless in SF, will join this crowd in stopping any sort of housing development in their area.

the only solution to this madness seems to be to enforce the California home act, with extreme prejudice against the clowns that are against owners that want to monetize their lot by building more houses in it legally.

this is why people disgust me. Especially well off people who want to preserve their high/upper middle class neighbourhood when people are suffering without a shelter. Its also impossible to reason with them or try to change their minds.

Bay Area will become unlivable because of these entitled loser clowns, not because it provides too much welfare (it doesn't)

you have to blame every current owner who turns up to council meets like this to shut down any proposed development in their town with silly and psycopathic objectiions. @csrcsr

so pls stop posting about 'tech' power of sf @csrcsr and trying to convince people that sf is doing well.

that sf is doing insanely well is the problem here. Too many people became rich off that, and are now refusing to let the place adapt to needs of its newer unhoused residents.

No one bats an eyelid for the costs of laying roads to subsidize their car usage, but they want all sorts of environmental reports to build a single building for lower income households. this madness is soul crushing.

Japan has national zoning laws , that gives local community little powers over what can or cannot be built

Perhaps that is why Japanese housing is pretty affordable compared to other peers nations cause they can build dense housing around areas with public transit

California also recently passed a similar zoning law that bypasses local councils ability to veto multifamily housing in a plot. even in the above case, none of those who object to building a low cost housing have rights to do so legally..

still its very hard to enforce these laws in the US. People have silly notions about freedom, while being subsidized by the govt to live their car dependent lives, and they call others as freeloaders. bunch of fcuking morons in the US. including in the blue districts.
