There is some truth in the claim. Sam Pitroda did great foundation work for setting up C-DOT. He came back to India on Rajiv Gandhi's invitation.

nope, the digital revolution started in India after PVNR opened the indian economy to foreign markets and the first mobile company was formed in India as a result which was JTM mobile and the rest is history

Like a water flow in a water fall mate. You cannot decide which step is the main one...

one-by-one... it happens. Its all bound to happen.

TATA sons started TCS in late 1960s. Narayana Murthy travelled all the world to import one Mainframe Computer.

By 1981, India has first Software Tech Park in Bangalore.

1986 -- Texas Instruments was inaugurated by Rajiv Gandhi in WindTunnel Road, Old Airport Road, Bangalore

1991 -- PVNR + MMS Financial Reforms changed everything...By 1999, it all blown up into a full scale Economic miracle

But out fake Pakodi Babooru keeps claiming because of Microsofts enrance in Hyd in 2000 that India's IT fate changed.
