In this market of high prices and high interest I feel rent is better option either wait for interest rates or prices to fall which no one know when ..

If you need a certain lifestyle and dont have money to support it, put a plan and work hard to get that money

Lead a happy life with what you get. Make wife and kids understand. If not move to India. With the money you made here, you can have an excellent life there.

dont worry bro....everyones journey is different. 

Keep your expenses at check and save up as much as you can or invest in good growth stocks (5 yr horizon if you are not planning a house). Once you have decent amount saved up, buy a house. Don't compare and live your life your way bro..

Ipudu unna interest rates ki .. property taxes ki .. u will pay hell a lot .. which is not worth it .. so money save chesko .. when time comes go for it
