EV's has 1000 less parts compare to ICE. TESLA manufactures the car using molds. they can get the car ready < $10,000 (not adding the initial investment)...

most ppl buy EV cars coz of cool factor and some countries (Nordic) committed to go all electric vehicles by 2025 which is moved to 2030 now. US will take a lot more than that. But Hybrid cars make a lot more sense than EVs if US is committed to them as well in future.
