Rajinikanth to become Telangana Governor?

If the latest rumours doing rounds on social media are to be believed, Tamil Nadu superstar Rajinikanth is likely to be appointed as the Governor of Telangana.

According to the rumour mills, the BJP national leadership reportedly made this bumper offer to Rajinikanth, who has reportedly been contemplating retiring from film industry soon.

Apparently, the BJP leadership is of the view that the Tamil superstar would help the party gain a huge political mileage in the assembly elections in Telangana. Not only that, it would also help the party gain some ground in Tamil Nadu as well.

“In fact, by honouring Rajinikanth with the Governor’s post, the BJP hopes to earn the confidence of the people in the entire South India,” sources said.

In fact, it was Rajinikanth’s brother Satyanarayana Rao Gaikwad, who triggered the rumours a couple of days ago that the superstar might soon become the Governor of a state in India. This has added spice to the speculations that Rajinikanth is contemplating entering politics.

“He may not enter direct politics, but he will definitely become the Governor of a state,” Satyanarayana Rao said.

That Rajinikanth is getting closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party was suspected, after his recent meeting with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The superstar even touched the feet of Adityanath.

The BJP has been focusing on attracting film stars down south for their upcoming election campaign. So, there is no surprise if Rajinikanth is made Governor by the Modi government any time.

antha scene undha vaadiki? He'll be forced to interfere with the state govt working, and will be made a joker stuck between bjp and brs/cong..

If someone as dumb & ignorant & foolish as Rahul Gandhi & Lokesh can contest to become Prime Minister & Chief Minster, why can't Rajini Kanth, a self-made & a disciplined person become governor of a state?

They become PM or CM if people bless them. Not like falling on a politician feet to get a post.

Feels like sympathy gesture. Why should he get governor padhavi when there are long time BJP loyalists in the party. Rajini won’t attract any votes since he old and quit politics.

because Rajnikanth is none of that. He's an actor with a serious drinking problem, and wayward behaviour, with great PR.

the guy can't stand public scrutiny for more than a few mins.. why do you think he dropped the idea of entering politics? because he realised he's not as popular as he thought, and TN people would pile on insults on him if he ran.

As long as he is a law abiding citizen, I don't have any problem with his personal life. I don't care if he's a womanizer or a drunkard. 

Some even entered politics & realized the mistake then merged it with a major party. 

At least Rajini didn't setup a patry & sell tickets like some of his contemporaries.

I thought you said he's a disciplined and a self made man. which he's not. He worked hard sometime in the 90s sure.. but dig deeper into him, you'd see a lot of scams, usury business practices etc. The guy is not a decent guy. He just has great PR.
