Krishna vamsi movies la edo cringe untadi anna, I don't have words for it. Murari, chakram I felt suffocated and would die watching it. Songs ithe konni vela sarlu vini untanu. Sindhooram outcome and financial troubles made KV change his path and he is still fighting to strike that balance between art and profit anpistdai, ex- mahathma movie. I felt if KV is untamed that's Sindhooram for you .

you bought very good example...not sure i am addressing your comment...but this is my understanding about KV...

he started his movies like leftist and maoist sympathizer or RGV sishya...for example gualabi, sindhooram, antahpuram...etc

but later he has strong influence of sirivennela on him..actually sirivennal took KV as datta putrudu...(by traditional cermony)...

later KV style is changed since khadgam...

DON and deewar is good...no doubt in that..but its far from reality and more commercial...but RGV sathya...is bit realistic..and his other movies like company..etc even his raktachartra also bit relasitic...compared to commercial samara simhareddy...

rgv for satya had some extraordinary writing from anurag kashyap. rgv is good, and doesn't steal credit from others.

more than him being good, he introduced some great directors to Hindi.

This reminds me of an incident that happened a long back where I think someone in Hollywood copied Bappi Lahiri music. I am not sure if its him or Anu malik (Memory sahakaristaledu). He  made so much ruckus about it. He copied so many western songs.

RGV gaadi daggara nundi leftist asalu expect cheyalem le anna. Mostly you are right in this aspect, he was highly influenced by Sastry garu and it reflects in his songs. Gayam movie la "Niggadesi Adugu " kooda ayane rasindu.

there are some good films in telugu...but audience didnt watch them...

for example..rudraveena, khaleja, 1 nenokkadine, johny..etc actually many more..

telugu movies are conservative and don't authentically portray lives of people other than upper class ones.

Telugu movies have never been able to capture this complexity of their society TG/AP. I used to be awe of Jadhyala films as a kid, and I feel Telugu films haven't moved past that yet. Not created truly interesting characters in the milleu where they live.

even new movies based off Telangana film scenes that conform to stereotypes of a typical TG person should be  - even the good stereotypes are boring and tiring.. because people can be interesting beyond empty virtue mongering like 'TG people are innocent and kind' etc...

monna edho movie chepparu - Maa oori polimera - horrible movie asalu. straight up trash, but people were saying its authentic TG blah blah.. ento

RGV Sathya is a cult movie. RGV was obsessed with Mumbai underworld those days. Made so many movies.

Narasimha naidu I enjoyed a lot. I did not watch balayya movies before. I went on a trip with my cousin (before movie release) and he put these songs. Initially they sounded cringe, but later hooked on to them. Very catchy music. After that I watched in theatre and thoroughly enjoyed. After that I watched SSR on TV and it was OK.

I liked them coz I watched faction movies for the first time. And mass songs. Of course Simran.

True, reason why I started liking Tamil movies for their authenticity

all of them live in a bubble. they watch movies and make movies based on that.

they don't have a life outside their studio. so unless they find a writer like Anurag Kashyap, they can't make good movies. They just don't know how people actually live in their immediate neighbourhood even.

yup...RGV meeda...naaku good opinions and bad opinions rendu equal gaa vunnayi...but one thing for sure...he created some path for indian mafia films...for eaxmaple...slum dog millionaire director also referred his movies...for his slum dog movie...but anyway..he is wasted talent...now working for politcial party...gone case..

but anyway...i always feel...singeetam srinivas...is underrated...and also...munna bhai series director also...

Dev Katta is underrated. Prasthanam movie is one of the best I watched. Very sensible and realistic. Also neelakantha. He did not get the fame he deserved, but he made some real good movies. Original content.

Tamil movies are not free of this type of pandering too.. they romanticize lower class, and impute all sorts of virtues for people who live on the edge of society. Tamil movies are like Shekhar Kammula type movies that revolve around lower class characters, none of whom are actually interesting.

I can't think of an authentic expression of lower class characters in Tamil films.. Goli Soda came close, but was too massy and convenient - 4 slum kids taking on a big dada.

both Telugu/Tamil movies don't mock their own society. They make excuses for it, or try to give lectures to it.

some tamil movies are exceptions to this.. but I can't think of a great Telugu movie that actually mocked the audience and got away with it.

Malayalam does this really well. not all movies, but some movies @shaktimaan

agree...devakatta is good writer...and sukumar is also good writer..(rangastalam)...but he is in the commercial circle now and cant show his true potential..

similarly nag aswin...he surprised me with his film evade subramanyam...but he is also going in commercial path...

and vivek atreya...he is still good with his two movies like brocheyvarevaru raa, and recent naani film..*cant rememebr the name..)

and venkatesh maha too...his is still good with his two movies..but didnt get any offers after that...
