Happened to come across this post in SOSGlobalIndians FB Page..

Looks like its 2019 2nd hand car and theft happened in Sunnyvale, Bay Area PostCode : 94089
 

 

I purchased a kia last week. It was parked on the street by my house, as I don’t have a garage. Two days later, it was broken into, hotwired, vandalized and abandoned. The thieves did a lot of damage, including breaking the car windows and stealing some personal belongings and the floor mats from inside the car.

Police recovered the car and we are waiting for the police report to file with the insurance claim, hoping insurance will cover the damages to the car.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Our insurance (Geico) referred us to a body shop for estimates. We have comprehensive coverage. The Geico representative estimated cosmetic repairs close to 60% of the car’s value. He said he couldn’t give an estimate for electrical work. The car didn’t pass a smog test today because two of the sensors are not working. The Airbag warning light is also on.

How do we go about getting a more accurate quote? Any advice is appreciated. TIA
