తెలంగాణ అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికల నేపథ్యంలో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ 55 మంది అభ్యర్థులతో కూడిన తొలి జాబితాను విడుదల చేసింది. పీసీసీ చీఫ్ రేవంత్‌రెడ్డి సొంత నియోజకవర్గమైన కొడంగల్ నుంచి బరిలోకి దిగుతుండగా ఇటీవల కాంగ్రెస్‌లో చేరిన జూపల్లి కృష్ణారావు కూడా సొంత నియోజకవర్గం కొల్లపూర్, కోమటిరెడ్డి వెంకటరెడ్డి నల్గొండ, కసిరెడ్డి నారాయణరెడ్డి కల్వకుర్తి నుంచి బరిలోకి దిగుతున్నారు. ఇటీవల బీఆర్ఎస్‌ను వీడి కాంగ్రెస్‌లో చేరిన మైనంపల్లి హన్మంతరావు అనుకున్నట్టే కుమారుడికి టికెట్ ఇప్పించుకున్నారు. ఆయనకు మల్కాజిగిరి టికెట్ కేటాయించిన కాంగ్రెస్.. కుమారుడు మైనంపల్లి రోహిత్‌రావుకు మెదక్ స్థానాన్ని కేటాయించింది. ఆందోల్ (ఎస్సీ) నుంచి మాజీ మంత్రి దామోదర్ రాజనరసింహ, మంథని నుంచి దుద్దిళ్ల శ్రీధర్‌బాబు బరిలోకి దిగుతున్నారు. సీతక్క తన సొంత నియోజకవర్గమైన ములుగు నుంచి పోటీ పడుతున్నారు.

Who is the DK SHI of TELANGANA Congress and TRS? DK Shi was pedda Kannada rajakeeya nayakudu for Congress. He was big reason for Congress victory in state elections.

Who does Telangana Congress or TRS have like him? A leader who has strong hold over party cadre, very wealthy, goonda connection in his area, and has a MAJOR caste backing for him. Although they might not be good orators, they have these other qualities like DK Shi does.

KA politics and TG are politics are different. TG politics are more communistic and socialistic than caste focussed. KCR velma caste is less than 1% of the population and Reddy's are about 10% at the most and other forward caste like brahmins, komati, kamma are less than 1%.

hence 80-90% of the population is BC/OBC/SC/ST and minorities. TG elections were never about caste as the ruling castes never had a chance to dominate as a set block and other castes never bothered.

coming to karnataka it is heavily caste dominated by Vokkaligga,Lingayath and kurba/golla who form 40-50% of the population.

DK Shi has strong backing from Gowdas. Backing has increased during 2023 elections. Gowdas voted Congress in South Karnataka which took seats away from Devegowda JDS party.

I remember DK Shi got arrested by BJP. So many Gowdas protested for his release. He has caste clout.

Maybe don’t focus too much on caste part. It’s just one aspect. Caste had strong influence to help him win. 

Other aspects like DK Shi is strong grip over party cadre, deep pockets to fund election, and rowdy sheeters to counter opposing batch ragging. Main weakness is orator skill.

caste was one of his strengths as he was able to consolidate their vote, mostly his community was angry from the coffee day founder harassment and suicide, he even married coffee day founders daughter to his son.

DK grip on the party is overstated and still most of the long timer congress workers are still behind Siddaramaiah and that is the reason he became a CM

Caste is one strength of his. But DK Shi had other strengths that made him almost Man of the Match for Karnataka elections. Strong grip over party cadre, deep pockets to fund election, and rowdy sheeters to counter opposing batch ragging. Main weakness is orator skill.

it is more of BJP undoing than DK or any congress leader. KA BJP screwed up big time.

Congress does well where ever it goes directly against BJP and vice versa. this happened in KA and JD didn't split as many gowda votes.

DK has money but that doesn't he is going to pump his own money, may be some .

Congress never fared more than 50% of seats in the last 40 years in Telangana after the inception of regional parties like TDP and TRS. So regional parties traditionally had more command in assembly elections in Telugu states
