Congress never fared more than 50% of seats in the last 40 years in Telangana after the inception of regional parties like TDP and TRS. So regional parties traditionally had more command in assembly elections in Telugu states

Telangana politicians are still very new to the scene. 2014 tarvate kada full freedom vachindi TG politicians ki, so in the next 10 years, one can see many such powerful people in Telangana too. it takes time to build up a position...

he is rich from ancestral properties around bangalore, his net worth officially is 1500 crores and is the richest MLA in India. 

ill gotten wealth karchu chestaru but kastapadi sampadinchindi evvadu panchi pettadu. There are many unofficial leaders richer than him but that's a different story.

Reddy brothers in 2004 anukunta 500-600 crores karachu chesindru because it was ill gotten wealth

Many TG leaders aren’t so new. They came from Razanna or even Annagoru era. 

Im sure there is at least a few TG leaders who are similar to DK Shi type leaders with huge money and rowdy power.
