PAK vs BAN:  “It was embarrassing,” Wasim Akram Reacts To Pakistan’s 8-wicket loss against Afghanistan

Pakistan were at the receiving end of an 8-wicket thrashing at the hands of Afghanistan in ICC World Cup 2023. They batted and bowled poorly in the game. With the bat, they managed just 282 runs with skipper Babar Azam being the top run-scorer with 74 runs knock. With the ball, they couldn’t put pressure on Afghanistan as they managed just 2 wickets.

Wasim Akram lashed out at Pakistan for their poor performance against Pakistan and criticized them for their fitness. He said that it seems that the players are eating 8 kg of mutton every day. He suggested that there should be fitness tests as they all are professionals. He explained:

“It was embarrassing today. They (won) it at the loss of two wickets… 280-290 is a big score…. the pitch is wet or not. Fitness level aap dekhe (you see the fitness levels). We are screaming that there has been no fitness test in the past two years. Now I take players’ names.looks like they are eating 8kg of kadhai and nihari daily. There should be some test. You guys are playing professionally, getting paid, playing for your country. There has to be a certain criteria.”

Pakistan will next be seen in action when they take on South Africa on Friday (27th October). They have lost three back-to-back games and would be eager to win the next game.
