wife wants to upgrade to a new single family home as we both are working. I have been trying to convince her it is not a good idea considering the environment and interest rates. I told her she can't count on her contract job.

helping her to find another job. but this is a good reality check.

You are a smart man not giving in to wife's pressures or peer pressure. You will have better opportunities to upgrade in 2024.
