depends on the company and role no. if you are applying for backend/front end roles why would anyone ask about AI.

AI is the buzz word these days. Every company is trying to implement something on AI. They are looking for use-cases. So any knowledge or information on AI will get a job sooner. Of course AI cant be used everywhere. The technology is just too raw and will take yrs to mature. But there are always usecases.

disagree. any decent tech company already has specialized roles/dept/people working on AI/ML related stuff. unlikely normal folks will get hired with just knowing some basic AI stuff. internal gaa move avvadame kastamu into those roles unless they are just starting and are clueless.

AI was very hot few months back. Slowly its getting diluted. Wait for another year or so to get clear picture.

My point here is, most companies have a lot of emplasis on AI. Its an advantage having an understanding or knowledge of this area. May be not for all roles.

I understand AI is completely overrated. Like for e.g. We are looking at AI solutions for our  data quality problems and exploring tools. Even tech companies are investing a lot in this space.

For technies -> Knowing /experience on technologies that are used in creating AI solutions

for Managers, Analyst, SME roles -> Understanding AI solutions, AI Jargoan

AI knowledge can be advantageous. I understand AI is all hype right now. But the situation is what it is. It will fade away with time until AI Technologies mature.

I am telling you first hand experience in my org and heard similar thing from many sources.

Q3 -> top priority

Q4 -> get what ever u can get it done with LLM’s

2024 Q1 -> No head count for AI

i agree it could be helpful learning AI concepts. But dont overdo

In our company, we are looking at smaller investments in AI and AI based solutions for data quality. Of course all SaaS solutions. Evaluating some vendors now.

We already use RPA solutions.

Its not overdoing, but being aware of these newer technologies is always a good thing.
