There is no point in arguing with people above (1) as neither wealth nor calculations were correct.

But w.r.t (2) above, I have a Brahmin friend group, with whom I always ask these questions regarding their claims:

1. The first recorded Invasion (which is Islamic invasion by Turks) on India was in 1047. If India was so advanced, why could not they fight that nomadic Turkish group who only had horses and knives?? With all that nuclear weapons and flying machines????

2. On one hand Brahmins claim, India had all the Universal knowledge, If thats the case, where are the material or documental evidences for Nuclear fission or fusion?

3. To answer the above question (2), my Brhamin friends say, all the documents are destroyed by Turks and Afghans invading India including Mughals. 

4. Then also they claim what all Europe and USA have been doing since 400 years is a copy cat version of Indian Vedas.

5. My question is: If all the knowledge was destroyed by Turks and Afghans before Europeans invaded India, HOW COME EUROPEANS STEAL VEDIC WELATH OF KNOWLEDGE??

The only advantage of IITs is for the parents of the boys to blow their triumph in family gatherings. IIT is definitely useful for getting a good marriage alliance for boys, no doubt.

99% of IIT grads end up in doing financial jobs in Investment banks of USA or UK.

With 70 years of blown-out pride, IITs do not even come into Top 100 R&D institutes of the World.

Not even a single innovation came out of them in 70 years.

A small country like Switzerland or Singapore or Israel or South Korea will beat India and IITs by infinite proportions when it comes to innovation.

Forget about comparing with China, Germany or USA

There were no calculations yes. but every country wanted to come to india so there was abundant wealth & knowledge for sure. why would so many risk their lifes in oceans. there should be something in east. 

Knowledge about how to conquer was western definitely. they didnot follow any rules for them everything was fair in war. 

Knowledge on eastern side was more knowing about the self, inner world and they considered that knowledge to be highest. Architecture, dance, music arts were more dominant part of the society.  expansion done by Indian kings also. destructive technologies were more in theory not on the ground. 

Not all was destroyed by turks obviously that is why you still have temples left in south. Universities were burnt down and  majority of north was razed to the ground.

every cultural group had its time. british time lo kolkata was the richest Indian city... and even that pales in comparison to Yangon in Burma, which was the richest in the region.

can Bengalis blame India for its fall from grace? It'd fair if they did.. coz it was Nehru's export bans that destroyed industry in Kolkata after the partition, not communists who came much much much later.

India was so special in the olden times that most of the records we have of India's history is from sources that were collated by the british. Indians are sleeping on learning about their own history mainly because it is politically inconvenient to seek truth in India.

You are correct about IIT. They should do bonded labour like doctors do or pay high fee back to get out from the contract. That way govt gets reimbursed for the subsidized education instead of US getting free grads trained and funded on Indian taxpayer dime.
