IIT graduates spilling cultural wisdom

what abundant wealth? India was on the tropical zone with a lot of agricultural land. spices were the most in demand.

Indian philosophy exploring materialism and inner self is about 2000yrs old. what has India done since then? big zero.

so Indians continue what their ancestors did, do nothing, and sit and brag about achievements in philosophy - which are indeed immense, without doubt. but then...

Dude, your argument has no sense did you see any occupied nation flourish? it takes years to come back out of it.

we are slow to come out of it yes  because leaders after independence didnot think about doing something they were still in hangover.

You are correct about IIT. They should do bonded labour like doctors do or pay high fee back to get out from the contract. That way govt gets reimbursed for the subsidized education instead of US getting free grads trained and funded on Indian taxpayer dime.

Especially the kind of IIT entrance prep — not even 1% of the rest of the Worlds Top University students can crack.

I really admire the kind of toughest puzzles in Physics and Chemistry are solved by them like a cake walk. But when it comes to real life problem solving, they cant even compete with low skilled Biharis.

Speaks volumes about the failure of IITs. A small innovation impromptu by a German Scientist Roentgen, is still saving millions of lives world wide. Much advanced versions like MRI Scan came but nothing is as simple, safe and low cost like X-Ray

Well IIT exams are designed to be extremely tough to weed out the huge population writing them.

But students don’t care about learning. They want high marks to get high packages from foreign companies, even if job has no relevance to studies.

A valueless liberal fck like you obviously puts incoherent garbage called "indian philosophy" over real achievements of indian working classes.

not surprising for someone who can't track even basic arguments, and relies purely on shouting others down.

India was known for its spices, leather, silk and numerous handicrafts.  all cannot be attributed to "tropical weather" like a feudal fck like you whose ancestors probably did not even wash their own bums.  It requires skill and application.

the level of application you put when you dive into an argument, yeah.

I think its stupid for a nation to be celebrating its past based on its leather and handicrafts. you go to any antiques market in India today, they'll make you a copy of all of those for 100rs.

It doesn't matter what my ancestors did.. feel free to cry victim about it, while you live like a modern day feudal fcuk, taking spa treatments in ashrams.

Atleast I have the decency to not put others into a position where they have to serve me - even when it is normalized in today's society.

India was not occupied for 2000yrs. more like the last 300yrs. Muslim rule doesn't come under occupation.

India lost its mojo much before the first islamic invasion.

if invasion is the criteria to label some group as outsiders, then the aryans came from central asia 2000yrs before the vedic civilization started in India. shall we consider the vedas, and subsequently formed religion Hinduism also to be alien to India?

period of innovation in the western countries - the industrial age, were also not a period of song and dance for its common folks. Most of them were enslaved and made to work to the whims of their masters.

Indians simply stopped growing as a society, and being innovative and focused on rituals, superstition, and anti-intellectual pursuits long before muslim kings invaded India.

Indians are doing it even to this day. @Telugodura456 whines about how 'hard working' blah blah certain people he likes, are. but they are as culturally brain damaged as the rest of India. Inspite of all those riches, Indians gave up critical thinking faculties and exist purely to tom-tom the achievements of their ancestors from 2000yrs ago.

Vedic civilisation started right after the invasion.i.e 1500 B.C.

this is why I should shut the fcuk up about these things. I get dates mangled, and lose track of what I'm saying all the time. Not that I was knowledgeable on these topics anyway.

I just want sanghi crap to get off my face.

Learn history first.

India was the US of the past...it had 23% of global economy.

If it was that backward why did all those countries come?

Only thing going good for British was gunpowder....they got lucky because of that invention.

Well, the first recorded instance in history about gun powder is from the Chinese period of Tang dynasty. UK did not invent Gunpowder. It is a part of the four great innovations from China, other three being Printing, Paper making and mariners compass.

The first industrialized production in the US was done by the Duponts just off the coast of Delaware.

I'm from Chennai. my parents are from kadapa and chittoor respectively.

and from the group that hates Reddy feudals, while being staunch sandrabob supporters my whole family is.

while this loser @Telugodura456 thinks I have some caste jealousy towards TDP. There's not a single person in my entire extended family (apart from one cousin) who even think about voting for ysrcp.

that guy is just victim mongering here all the time. he'll say whatever he thinks will shut me down, and then move on to the next.
